When considering a juicing machine you need to bear in mind a few important facts:
- Do want speed or are you prepared to wait a little longer for a higher quality juice?
- Are you on a budget or can you spend a bit more to get something of better quality?
- Do you want a good looking machine or just any old machine as long it makes decent juice?
- Will you be juicing just occasionally or will you be making juice 3 or more times per day?
- Is a 6-month guarantee or do you want something much longer? Some of the best juicers today come with a 15-year warranty!
When considering an all-round juicing machine we tend to advise something that has a good manufacturers guarantee, gets good user reviews on sites such as Amazon and produces little or no heat.
If too much heat or friction is produced during operation then this can damage the juice.
Heat can cause the juice to lose nutrients and enzymes and so reduce its nutritional content.
The majority of centrifugal juicers produce quite a bit of heat during operation.
If you’re really serious about juicing and nutrition then it’s normally considered best to go for a masticating or slow juicer.
We really like Breville juicers here at JuicerGallery.
Breville makes a popular line of juicing machines however one of our favourites is the Breville JEXL.
It has a neat stainless steel design that looks awesome in any kitchen. It’s rated at 1000 watts so it’s powerful enough to tackle almost all types of fruit and vegetables.
Even though it’s a centrifugal juicer, it’s designed in a way to produce as little heat as possible.
As a day to day juicing machine it’s an excellent choice. It can juice most things quickly and is easy to clean. The warranty is good and it has a compact design.
Another brand we really like here at JuicerGallery is Omega.
Omega makes some really great juicers and our all-around favourite is the Omega J8006.
This juicer is a little larger than the Breville but still looks really cool. It also comes in some funky color options such as purple, pink, red and green.
The Omega J8006 features a powerful low-speed motor producing 2 hp that juices things slowly producing no heat. This results in a more nutritional complete juice that can be stored in a refrigerator for up to 3 days.
The unit is really easy to clean as it’s easy to take apart so it’s not too messy.
The juicer is a little slower than the Breville as it’s a masticating juicer, but the trade-off is a much higher quality juice and a dryer pulp.
This juicer can also be used to grind coffee beans, make nut butter and even make pasta! Best of all it comes with a 15-year warranty, so represents exceptional value.
